Arch Grants Global Startup Competition

The Arch Grants Global Startup Competition is currently closed.  Get excited for the 2014 winners! Find out more about last years’ competition here, and stay tuned for this year’s submission details.

2012 marked the inaugural year of our Global Startup Competition.  It went pretty well — we awarded $750,000 cash to 15 startups, in addition to two $100,000 follow on grants, as well as plus pro bono support bringing the total around $1,000,000 awarded to startups in St. Louis!

It went so well that in 2013 we awarded 20 grants for a grand total of $1,000,000 in grant funding, and went on to award another $200,000 in follow on grants again!

So far this year, we’ve awarded $1,000,000 to our 20 competition winners, and they are heading to St. Louis.

How it works

Our aim is always to make the process as simple and painless as possible.  Below you’ll find key details about the competition.

  • $50,000 in equity-free cash disbursed quarterly, over the course of a year
  • Pro-bono accounting, legal, marketing, HR, financial consulting, banking, and mentoring services
  • Introduction to key business leaders for the purposes of social integration, fundraising, and business development.

Do you have an innovative startup that could headquarter your office in St. Louis? Great, then you may be a qualified applicant for our next competition!

Still debating? A few more details might help you decide. Arch Grants is looking for disruptive ideas – doing something that hasn’t been done before or doing something in a radically new way. We seek to attract entrepreneurs who are already located in St. Louis OR are willing to relocate here. Basing your business in St. Louis is a prerequisite for receiving the grant and all of our current entrepreneurs are investing their time in making the St. Louis startup scene even stronger. Finally, we look for scalable businesses. We want to hear how you’re planning to expand your business to capture national or international sales while remaining headquartered in St. Louis.

Please refer to our FAQ for detailed information on who should apply.

Please stay tuned for more information about the launch of our next competition, which will be in late 2014!  For any questions about the process, please visit last year’s competition page here, or contact Ben Burke, Director of Entrepreneurship, at Ben.Burke@ArchGrants.org.
