What is Amptify?

Amptify is a full-stack hearing healthcare platform that offers an ecosystem of solutions built to improve the provider and patient experience through digital-first care.

With its technology platform, Amptify engages in the provision and facilitation of hearing healthcare products and services via mobile devices, the internet, video and phone. Founded in 2015 by a world-renowned aural rehabilitation research team as a university spin-off from the Audiovisual Speech Perception Laboratory at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, Amptify is a global leader in comprehensive hearing healthcare, offering technology to connect, expertise clients and patients can trust, and the power to improve hearing healthcare for all.

Chris Cardinal

Chris Cardinal is an entrepreneurial-minded executive with a successful history of driving corporate strategy through effective product and process management. Mr. Cardinal is the President and COO of Amptify, is a Member of the Consumer Technology Association’s Digital Therapeutic working group, is a Mentor at Sling Health and at ITEN. Formerly, Mr. Cardinal served as the SVP of Product at SensorRX and was Co-Founder and CEO of the digital health company Welltodo which was successfully acquired in Q3 of 2018. Prior, he also served as an EIR at the Regnier Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and as Managing Partner of the strategic management and business planning firm Huddle Strategic.

Tad Zelski

Mr. Zelski was formerly the Director of Professional Development at Widex Hearing Aid Manufacturing, in which capacity he helped audiological practices develop service delivery models.

Steven Tye

Mr. Tye is a former investment banker and has created several web-based services and businesses that promote good health. Mr. Tye serves as Ampitfy’s Director of Finance.

What is Geneoscopy?

Geneoscopy is the developer of next-generation diagnostics designed to treat digestive diseases and offer cancer screening. The company’s diagnostics help in consistently extracting stool-derived eukaryotic RNA (seRNA) transcripts and detecting changes in gene expression, enabling doctors to better prevent, detect, and guide treatment for gastrointestinal disease.

Erica Barnell

Chief Scientific Officer

Geneoscopy co-founder, Erica Barnell graduated from Cornell University with a dual degree in Biological Sciences and Applied Economics & Management. Erica is an MD/PhD candidate at the Washington University School of Medicine. In 2019, Erica completed her PhD at the McDonnell Genome Institute. Her thesis work surrounded the development of bioinformatic tools to alleviate the analysis bottleneck within precision oncology. Erica has published 19 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 11 abstracts with 4 platform presentations, and two book chapters within the oncology space. Erica conducted the original research to validate Geneoscopy’s stool extraction method and managed all feasibility studies for Geneoscopy’s colorectal cancer (CRC) screening test. Erica was responsible for existing engagement with the FDA, which includes holding three presubmission meetings and obtaining Breakthrough Device Designation for the lead CRC screening test. Erica is the lead inventor on all patents pertaining to Geneoscopy’s technology and is currently the site investigator on two IRB-approved protocols.

Andrew Barnell

Chief executive Officer

Co-founder of Geneoscopy, Andrew graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics & Management and a specialization in Finance. He received an MBA in Health Care Management and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School. Andrew began his career as a financial analyst in J.P. Morgan’s healthcare investment banking group, working primarily on M&A and capital markets transactions. Andrew also worked as an associate at Lindsay Goldberg, a middle-market private equity firm focused on partnering with family-owned businesses.

Melissa is a regulatory professional with over 27 years of experience in the medical products industry. She has served as the industry representative for the FDA Medical Device Dispute Advisory Panel and is an Adjunct Professor at Washington University in St. Louis. Melissa also currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Regulatory Affairs at Topera.
