Business Development Associate
Location: St. Louis, MO
Reports To: Director of Portfolio
Travel: 10% of Time
Compensation: $60K – $70K, Commensurate with experience
Main Function:
As a Business Development Associate at Arch Grants, you’ll play a vital role in helping our portfolio companies create and build customer relationships. You will work closely with startups, using your sales and business skills to develop business development & marketing plans that drive lead generation and sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prospect local, regional, and national business relationships for Arch Grants’ portfolio companies, with a particular focus on Geospatial, Agrifoodtech, and Advanced Manufacturing industries
• Collaborate with portfolio companies to identify and develop client relationships.
• Assist portfolio companies in creating and executing marketing plans to drive lead generation and sales.
• Assist Director of Portfolio & Executive Director with management and expansion of the Corporate Advisory Council.
• Utilize insights from the Corporate Advisory Council and broader corporate network to support Arch Grants Startup Competition outreach
• Develop and help launch inaugural Corporate Summit for Arch Grants Portfolio Companies
• Engage with entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and the local community to expand Arch Grants’ network.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated interest in technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital, etc.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience, including financial modeling, growth hacking, and/or lead generation.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
• Enthusiastic, positive attitude with a passion for networking and building relationships.
• Able to jump in and complete assigned tasks quickly and effectively.
• A growth mindset and eager to engage new stakeholders with energy and enthusiasm.
• Currently live in the St. Louis, MO Metropolitan area or would be willing to relocate for the role.
